MILFORD – Residents of the tiny town of Milford sent a positive response to the Milford Police Department over the past few days relieved one of their five police department law enforcement officers survived a close call.

Just after midnight on Thursday, June 9, a drunk driver struck one of the Milford patrol cars on Highway 35E.

“Our officer was standing near the patrol car and almost got hit as well,” explained a Facebook post by Milford Police Chief Chris Amos.

“Our officer has no injuries, but he was definitely shook up,” the post continued.

The Milford Police Department has one police chief, one sergeant and three officers.

Chief Amos did not respond to emails, texts or phone calls for additional information regarding if the drunk driver was arrested, his name, what the cost of the damage to the police car was after it was struck, or why the officer was on the side of the highway outside of his vehicle.
