ELLIS COUNTY – There were a number of propositions on the ballot this past Saturday, with the most significant in both Ferris and Red Oak ISD failing in unofficial results.
The city of Mansfield had five propositions that all failed in Saturday’s election.
Proposition A failed 155 to 162 voting against.
Proposition B failed with 143 for and 180 against.
Proposition C failed 120 for and 197 against.
Proposition D failed 152 for and 168 against.
Proposition E failed with 134 for and 182 against.
The city of Oak Leaf had one proposition that passed in a 184 for and 101 against vote.
The city of Venus had one proposition that passed 19 to 3 in the Ellis County portion of the vote with Johnson County not yet reporting.
Ferris Independent School District propositions all failed, with both Ellis and Dallas County numbers having reported in unofficially with results.
Proposition A failed 335 for and 388 against.
Proposition B failed with 282 for and 438 against.
Proposition C failed with 253 for and 464 against.
All four Red Oak Independent School District propositions also failed unanimously this past Saturday.
Voters said no to Proposition A’s $156.8M, with 53.77% of the voters against and 1,534 voting in favor of high school, middle school, and elementary school additions and renovations as well as district-wide maintenance items and energy management system upgrades.
Proposition B was asking for $45M for Goodloe Stadium additions and changes, but that failed with 2,006 against and 1,311 for in Saturday’s vote.
For Proposition C, the outcome for high school athletic improvements for $9.3M failed with 2,006 against the proposition and 1,310 voting in favor.
Proposition D also did not end well for $19M for a new Transportation Facility and Parking, with 1,937 voters saying no and 1,385 voters who wanted the improvements.
