WILMER – Wilmer’s Mayor Sheila Petta was one of the mayors from Senator Royce West’s District 23 invited to a special breakfast last week with the senator.
West invited mayors and city managers from his collected cities in his district to come together for breakfast and fellowship – and a frank discussion about what is happening in the respective cities in Senate District 23.
In addition to Wilmer, there were also Hutchins, Lancaster, DeSoto, Cedar Hill, and Duncanville mayors and city managers, including Wilmer City Administrator Rona Stringfellow, in attendance for the breakfast held at the Lancaster Recreation Center.
“I am honored to have had the privilege to attend a breakfast meeting with the surrounding mayors and city managers in Senate District 23,” Petta said. “Participating in this meeting was enjoyable as we fellowshipped and had discussion about what is taking place in each of our respected cities and talking about future legislative matters.”
Indeed, the mayors and city managers discussed diverse topics while enjoying the meal – everything from future legislative matters to the outstanding growth in the region.
Overall, Petta said she was proud to see all SD23 cities working together for the betterment of the region, and she was impressed with the overall unification efforts and collaboration from everyone involved.
“I am honored and humbled to represent all the constituents in the city of Wilmer,” the mayor concluded.
