HUTCHINS – James Quin  took over the position as the new city manager of Hutchins on Feb. 21.

The position was open after former City Manager Trudy Lewis left for another opportunity in early December of last year.

Quin was chosen out of over a dozen applicants who applied for the position.

Quin comes to Hutchins from the city of Haslet, Texas where he was the city administrator for over eight years.

Prior, he served as the city manager for Richland Hills for 16 years.

“We are very pleased that James Quin will be joining the Hutchins team,” Hutchins Mayor Mario Vasquez said. “Hutchins is experiencing unprecedented growth in both residential and commercial. We wanted someone to help us manage that growth.”

Vasquez believed Quin will be the right leader to do it.

Quin has a Bachelor of Science Education and a Master of Public Administration degrees from Missouri State University.

He is also a member of the International City/County Management Association.

He earned his Credentialed Manager designation, which recognizes professional local government managers and is a member of TCMA.
