HUTCHINS – The city of Hutchins announced Chick-fil-A, Inc., one of the nation’s leading quick service restaurant companies, will be building a major distribution and production center in the city.
The investment is estimated at $325 -million with the combined campus for Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods.
Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods were created to meet the needs of Chick-fil-A restaurants.
The majority of Chick-fil-A restaurants are locally owned and operated.
Chick-fil-A Supply distributes food and products to Chick-fil-A restaurants, while Bay Center Foods is a food production company dedicated to producing real lemon juice.
The new campus in Hutchins will house the company’s third full-scale Chick-fil-A Supply distribution center and its second Bay Center Foods facility.
The move will also bring 390 permanent jobs to the city.
“We are very pleased that Chick-fil-A chose Hutchins for this state of the art facility,” said Hutchins Mayor Mario Vasquez.
“Attracting industry leaders like Chick-fil-A demonstrates that Hutchins is a good place to do business.
“By working closely with Chick-fil-A over the last few months, I know that they will be good corporate citizens.”
The facility is projected to open in 2023.
“The Chick-fil-A project delivers high quality and good paying jobs to our residents.
“The outstanding wages provided by Chick-fil-A sets a new standard for Hutchins,” concluded Guy Brown, executive director of the Hutchins Economic Development Corporation.
