WILMER – The city of Wilmer has two exciting Valentine’s Day surprises for residents.
The E.M. Gilliam Memorial Public Library is hosting their Annual Valentine’s Candy Guessing Game, which began Feb. 1.
How much candy is in the jar?
Ways to submit your guess are at the Wilmer Public Library, on the Wilmer Facebook page @CityofWilmer, or by email to jdominguez@cityofwilmer.net.
The winning prize is a candy jar, and the winner will be announced Feb. 11.
The library is also having its in-person Valentine’s Storytime and Craft event on Thursday, Feb. 10 starting at 3:30 p.m.
The activity is to make your own Valentine’s gift card, and it is a good way to visit the library and see what is happening there.
Right now, in readiness for Valentine’s Day there is a display celebrating the red-hearted holiday.
Look for the Wilmer Librarian’s favorite book too: “Amelia Bedelia.”
Both the candy guessing game and the storytime crafts have historically been favorites of library regulars.
And, of course it is a good way to entice folks to visit the local library too.
