GLENN HEIGHTS – In December, the Glenn Heights City Council approved several positive public safety improvements for the city’s fire department.
Recently, members of the Glenn Heights Fire Department met with staff from Metro Fire Apparatus to finalize design and specification details on a new Spartan 105-foot Rear Mount Aerial Ladder Truck on a Gladiator Chassis.
The price of the apparatus is estimated to be $1.4 million.
Glenn Heights Deputy Fire Chief Nicholas Williams said the city’s Fire Department will receive the new truck in late 2022 to mid- 2023.
The new ladder truck will be equipped with a wide array of rescue and firefighting equipment.
The truck will contain a 500-gallon water tank, a 20-gallon foam tank and 1500-gallon per-minute pump.
The 105-foot ladder and TFT Monsoon master stream nozzle attached at its tip will allow firefighters to quickly put water on a fire from an elevated position or reach citizens in need during a rescue operation.
“Glenn Heights Fire Department is excited to receive this new apparatus so we may continue to provide the best service possible to the citizens of our community,” Williams concluded.
