FERRIS – The Ferris police arrested 37-year-old Christopher Daniel of Burleson on an unknown date and police did not respond by press time with further details of the arrest other than Daniel was arrested for charges of aggravated sexual assault with a bond set at $250,000.
Daniel is currently in the Ellis County Wayne McCollum Detention Center.
Ferris Police did not respond to questions as to how long the victim and her mother lived in Ferris before moving to Bear Creek Road in Red Oak where the incident was reported on Sept. 24, 2021.
They were living in Ferris in 2013 when the incident reportedly occurred according to the victim.
It is uncertain what Daniel’s relationship to the victim and her mother was, however a Lt. at the Ferris Police Department he thought Daniel was an uncle of the child who was said to have been sexually assaulted in 2013 at the age of “seven or eight.”
It is unknown if Daniel has a criminal history, but the incident report indicated on the morning of Sept. 21 around 8:20 a.m. a Ferris detective was contacted by a Red Oak detective and informed the Ferris detective he had been “investigating a delayed sexual assault of a child and that his investigation had revealed that the offense had occurred in the City of Ferris.”
It was also reported the victim’s mother had been sexually assaulted by Daniel as well when she was a child.
It is not known the age difference between the victim’s mother and the suspect.
Ferris Police also did not respond by press time as to the reason the mother was told by her child eight years after the incident of what happened. If Ferris Police were correct, the victim would now by 15 or 16 years old.
