WILMER – The City of Wilmer E.M. Gilliam Memorial Public Library reopened its doors Monday morning at 10 a.m. with limited capacity.
Patron hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday hours are from 1 to 5 p.m.
To reserve the public computers call ahead to schedule an appointment. The library offers one hour per day per person for the computer and the same with the business center, which is also available to library patrons.
Renovation was done on the Wilmer Public Library while it was closed down due to Covid-19 restrictions.
“We took advantage of being shut down to renovate and improve the library,” Wilmer Mayor Sheila Petta said.
“And we rearranged. Books were cleaned out and updated and we hope all the citizens will come and take a look at the renovation and use your public library.”
The renovation was done with a historical look and mural paintings in the renovated children’s center including sky blue colors.
The capacity in the library will be nine people at a time so call ahead and connect with staff to schedule a time before visiting.
