The Ferris Antibody Staff plan to host a COVID-19 vaccine clinic from 8 a.m. to noon Friday.
It will take place at Lucy Mae McDonald Elementary School, 500 Farm-to-Market Road 983.
POLICE STOP TRAFFIC CONTROL AT INTERSECTIONS
Traffic may get more congested at some area intersections, police said.
The Ferris Independent School District and the city have mutually agreed to discontinue all traffic control at the intersections of Farm-to-Market roads 983 and 664 and the 8th St. bridge which reportedly took place in the morning and afternoon, according to a news release. It went into effect Monday.
Officials said an officer was hit by a vehicle while working traffic last month. Since then, officers have reported multiple instances of drivers ignoring directives which could have resulted in “substantial injuries” to both law enforcement and motorists, the release states.
The status of the officer hit was not included in the release.
Officials advise leaving earlier as there may be a delay in traffic.
