GLENN HEIGHTS – Officials with the Glenn Heights Police Department recently reunited a 14-year-old girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert with her family.
Stevie Johnson was found safe by police Friday, Nov. 5, in St. Louis County, Mo., according to a news release issued by the city of Glenn Heights.
The release states 33-year-old Shawnice Hickman, Johnson’s biological mother, was taken into custody when officers from the St. Louis County Special Response Unit observed her getting out of a vehicle parked around the corner from one of the residences law enforcement had under surveillance. Johnson reportedly was found at the nearby home.
Glenn Heights police officials contacted St. Louis County authorities after Johnson was reportedly abducted because they believed Hickman would be traveling to the St. Louis area based on tips gathered during the investigation, according to the release.
An Amber Alert was issued for Johnson last week after she was reportedly taken by Hickman after Johnson exited a school bus in the 800 block of Cascade Lane in Glenn Heights.
Johnson’s mother was accompanied by her two sisters in the reported abduction, according to the release.
As of Friday, Nov. 5, Hickman and the two sisters were in custody on kidnapping charges from the Glenn Heights Police Department.
The names of the sisters were not provided in the release.
