RED OAK – The Red Oak Police Department reported over the weekend that the manhunt, which began in that city last Thursday, had reached a successful conclusion.

The United States Marshal Service had contacted Red Oak PD after receiving information that wanted subject Stoney Ellis, 43, from Oklahoma, could possibly be in Red Oak.

Ellis, who was considered armed and dangerous, was wanted for an accident involving death by the Ellis County, Texas Sheriff’s Office, as well as a homicide and escape out of the Bryan County, Oklahoma Sheriff’s Office.

Ellis, who had a $5000 reward for the escape and homicide was apprehended and taken into custody in Sulphur, Louisiana last Friday morning.
