OVILLA – The Ovilla City Council recently issued welcoming plaques to seven new businesses in the city.

These diverse new establishments, all located on Main Street include Legacy Nutrition, Snow Place Like Home, Tiverton Bakery, Cup of Alaska, Bella Rose, Ovilla Barber Shop and Village Counseling and Consulting.

The key to downtown development really began several years ago when the city partnered with the landowners to install sanitary sewer service.

From there the rest has been an exciting growth spurt.

So now residents and visitors to the city can enjoy not only a haircut while drinking a cup of coffee, but then stop in for some fresh bakery products before getting on with their day.

“Downtown Ovilla is thriving thanks to our local entrepreneurs creating these small businesses to serve our residents and surrounding area,” said Ovilla Mayor Richard Dormier.

“We are grateful to each business owner for investing their time and money providing their services to our community.”
