WILMER – Sparks will be flying in the City of Wilmer on July 2 this year for the city’s first annual Sparks Fireworks show on July 2.

“The City of Wilmer is thrilled to be able to celebrate our first Fourth of July Fireworks Show called “Sparks in the Night”  on Friday, July 2,”  said City of Wilmer Mayor Sheila Petta.

Join the city in celebrating our nation’s 245th birthday with fireworks, which will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Residents can watch the festivities from anywhere in the city or tune in to KBEC 1390AM/99.1 FM starting at 9 p.m. for news and announcements and to hear the fireworks music simulcast.

For those who can’t make it to view the fireworks in-person, the fireworks display will also be livestreamed on the City of Wilmer’s YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0hnvJVtlRq7HDdIpvoaXWw

“We welcome residents and guests to find a safe space to watch the show,”  Petta concluded. “We look forward to creating a strong community spirit while celebrating Independence Day.

“No matter where you watch from, the show will be SPARKtacular.”

 

As a note, City of Wilmer offices will also be closed Monday, July 5 in observance of the Fourth of July holiday as well.
