WAXHACHIE – A 29-year-old male found dead late last week in Ennis has been identified as Waxahachie resident Jordon Von Hoffman.
While the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department is not releasing the cause of death at the moment, the manner of death was noted as homicide.
The sheriff’s department is now looking for 28-year-old Ellis County resident Trenton James Adams for the murder of Von Hoffman.
Through investigation, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division has developed evidence linking Adams to the murder.
Adams has an active warrant out for his arrest, and is believed to be traveling in a black, 2011 Jeep Compass with the Texas license plate, NCG 9476.
He is also wanted on a parole violation with no bond for that charge, and a recommended bond of $1,000,000.00 for the murder warrant.
It was on Wednesday, March 24 at around 4:20 p.m. that Ellis County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 6900 block of Ensign Road in Ennis for a suspicious activity report.
The reporting party believed there was a human body on the property.
The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations and Ellis County Crime Scene responded to the location with assistance from the Department of Public Safety – Texas Rangers.
The Ellis County Justice of Peace pronounced the body as deceased, the body was transported to the Dallas Medical Examiner’s Office and an autopsy ordered.
The following day Von Hoffman’s body was identified.
Sergeant Joe M. Fitzgerald, Public Information Officer for the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office said the department is seeking the public’s assistance in the whereabouts of Adams.
