OVILLA – Roadwork in Ovilla in the new year has begun.

Monday was the first day for the Red Oak Creek Road replacement of asphalt project at the new drainage site.

The drainage system is for Broadmoor Estates and the project is scheduled to be complete this week according to Ovilla Public Works Director James Kuykendall.

Detours for traffic is posted at the road closure.

A water main repair/lane closure was also set for this week, but is being rescheduled due to a main break in the city.

Crews had been scheduled to repair a water line at the 600 block of Westmoreland with southbound traffic closed between Cardinal and Meadowlark. Stayed tuned to the city’s website for further details as to when that will be rescheduled.

The unexpected main break on Buckboard had Ovilla Public Works working Tuesday to repair the situation.
