FERRIS – “As you may already be aware, COVID-19 has impacted all our dispatchers, with the exception of one. We are transferring dispatching (at scheduled times) to the County. This has been coordinated with/by the City of Ferris and the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office.
“Direct lines to the Police Department (972-544-2225 and 972-842-2092) will be routed to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office. If you have an emergency, please dial 911.
“We appreciate the assistance of the County and the willingness to work together during this challenging situation. We will keep you updated on the situation as it evolves.
“As a City, we are currently at approximately 19-percent of employees having tested positive for COVID,” according to an emergency broadcast.
