ENNIS – The Ennis double homicide earlier this month remains a mystery according to police in Ennis who are releasing almost no information about the violent crime.

The double homicide occurred in Ennis on Dec. 4.

Around 7:30 p.m., the Ennis Police Department received multiple 911 calls alerting officers to shots being fired in the 900 block of S. Marriott Street.

When officers arrived, they found two adults deceased in a vehicle.

The victims have been identified as Caleb Clark, 23, and Rodney Dent II, 25, from Ennis.

The Ennis Police said, “We are not releasing any information about witnesses or vehicles at this time.”

The exact cause of death and other details are not known at this time either.

All that is known is witnesses reportedly heard numerous gunshots during the incident. It is also unknown the cause of the two adults being killed or how they were murdered, other than the police department’s reveal that witnesses had heard gunshots.

The Ennis Police Department did acknowledge their Criminal Investigations Division is “out in force” to ensure the quick and proper crime scene processing.

“Our department will continue working with state and regional law enforcement until those responsible are brought to justice.”
