FERRIS – Stolen purses, car speakers, car stereos, telephone chargers, flat screen televisions and power tools were found at a residence in Ferris last week.

The Ferris Police Department received a tip from an anonymous source about stolen items being stored at a residence located in the 300 block of N. Main.

The Ferris Police Department contacted the owner of the residence on N. Main, who gave police consent to enter and search the residence according to Ferris Police Chief John DeLeon.

When police entered the home, they found two adult males inside.

Suspects Mikal Andrew Reedy, 22, and Lars Vincent Wells, 20, were arrested for possession of stolen property.

Both Reedy and Wells were acquaintances of the homeowner, and had been storing the items in the back bedroom of the home.

When Ferris PD entered the premises and located the items, DeLeon said they discovered some of the items had apparently been taken in a previously reported burglary of a vehicle too.

DeLeon added, “The owner of the residence fully cooperated and was able to walk through with the officers and pointed out items that were not familiar to the resident.”

In all, 70 stolen items were confiscated from the residence.

DeLeon said further interviews have been scheduled with the subjects.

At least one of the suspects has a previous criminal history.

Ferris Police also plan to reach out to surrounding agencies regarding the stolen property as information is gathered.

DeLeon concluded some of the items were stolen property from burglaries committed in other cities.
