PALMER – The Palmer Police Department quickly located four runaways from the city’s high school and middle school last week.
Palmer Criminal Investigative Division Detective L. Armendariz said on Nov. 9, three juveniles from the Palmer High School ages 14 and one juvenile from the Palmer Middle School age 13 had been reported as runaways by their parents that day.
The juveniles were seen leaving town southbound towards the railroad tracks at approximately 4:30 p.m. last Monday afternoon.
Armendariz said, “Information quickly poured in from multiple sources including other high school students, parents, and neighboring police agencies.”
The leads given to the police during the day and into the next day led to all the juveniles being located at Lions Park at 1200 W. Lampasas St. in Ennis at around 6 p.m. the following afternoon.
The juveniles were not related and were reportedly planning to travel to Florida where they had friends.
“The Palmer Police Department wishes to thank all the people in our community for their combined help in tracking the juveniles and bringing them safely home,” Armendariz concluded.
