PALMER – A 28-year-old front seat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene Oct. 9, following a major accident on Interstate 45 northbound near mile marker 258 at around 6 p.m.
The Palmer Police Department was dispatched to the scene of the accident, where there were three individuals in a 2010 silver Toyota Scion.
The driver was a 29-year-old Hispanic female – there were also two passengers in the vehicle, a 28-year-old Hispanic male sitting in the front seat of the Scion, and a 29-year-old Hispanic female in the back seat of the car.
According to witness statements and physical evidence, the speed in the accident was a factor, as the vehicle rolled over several times.
Police said it is also believed alcohol was possibly involved and present inside the vehicle.
The remaining two injured persons were airlifted to Baylor Dallas.
Palmer PD said Monday afternoon they were still awaiting the toxicology report on the driver, who later died from her injuries.
