MIDLOTHIAN – In a season of unknowns, Midlothian Heritage decided to move up its Senior Night celebration to the second week of the season.

Heritage didn’t disappoint, and the fourth senior class in school history pulled out a 28-21 victory over 10th ranked Lindale, bringing the program’s overall record to 45-10.

Quarterback Daelin Rader finished with 141 passing yards and one touchdown on nine completions.

Running backs Cullen Stone and Latray Miller combined for three touchdowns and 141 yards, while wideout Haydon Wiginton hauled in the Jaguars’ sole receiving TD.

Though Rader targeted Wiginton six times, he also spread the ball around to three other receivers. Carter Wilkerson, Reese Wuensch and Jason Barela all got in on the action, finishing with one pass each for 30, 17 and 19 yards, respectively.

The defense looked stout throughout the first quarter, allowing only a field goal, but the Jags struggled to contain Lindale running back Jordan Jenkins, who finished the game with 157 yards on 30 attempts.

After giving up two touchdowns in the second quarter, Heritage clung to a 21-19 lead heading into the locker room.

Heritage’s opening drive of the third quarter stalled out due to penalties, and a Lindale safety tied the game up at 21. Then Stone put the game away with a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
