MIDLOTHIAN – Three robbery suspects were in custody last Wednesday after leading Midlothian and Cedar Hill police on a chase after holding up a truck stop in Ellis County.
The robbery occurred around 3 a.m. at the Love’s Travel Stop in the 1500 block of West Main Street in Midlothian.
According to police, a robber walked into the store, displayed a handgun and took cash from the register.
He then got into a maroon Chrysler with two others and fled north on U.S. Highway 67 toward Cedar Hill.
Police gave chase and watched as the car briefly pulled over and someone threw out a stolen Glock 23 handgun before the car took off again.
Officers followed the car into Cedar Hill, where it took the Belt Line Road exit and turned into a shopping center parking lot in the 300 block of U.S. 67.
The car stopped, and Midlothian and Cedar Hill officers arrested the three people inside without incident, police said.
A woman and two men are in the Midlothian city jail. The driver faces a charge of evading arrest with a vehicle, while the other man is being held on aggravated robbery charges.
The woman in the car was charged with public intoxication.
