ENNIS – An unknown man was shot in the 900 block of N. Preston in Ennis Monday at around 5:30 a.m. according to the Ennis Police Department. Police responded to the address after dispatch received a call concerning an individual who had kicked his way into the residence on N.

ELLIS COUNTY – A group, led by a local veteran, are hoping to gather nearly 5,000 citizens of Ellis County.Justice Precinct 1, which covers the eastern side of the county, is calling for an election to level the playing field for businesses in area as has been approved in other parts of the county.

ELLIS COUNTY – Last week, Ellis County was approved for a grant for a Veterans Treatment Court program.The grant was approved for the 2023/2024 grant year by the Texas Veterans Commission.
