MIDLOTHIAN – Dallas-based commercial property firm KDC is building a distribution center for Oncor Electric Delivery Co.
The 422,000-square-foot project will be in Railport Business Park on U.S. Highway 67 southwest of Midlothian.
“The new facility will help Oncor meet their real estate needs and continue to serve their customers,” Eric Hage, KDC executive vice president for development, said in a statement.
The new warehouse and shipping hub will open in fall 2024 and will serve the electric utility’s North Texas operations.
“This facility will help continue to support the unprecedented growth throughout Oncor’s service territory,” Oncor’s Kallie Malmgren said in a statement.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Ryan Hoopes, Robbie Baty and David Eseke brokered the transaction.
According to The Dallas Morning News, KDC worked with the City of Midlothian to rezone the property for the project.
The Railport business park also is home to industrial facilities for Target, SunOpta Ingredients and QuikTrip.
Google also has a large data center in the business park.
