WILMER – The city of Wilmer received a superior rating in a letter from Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Region 4-Dallas/Fort Worth on Jan. 20.
Requirements outlined by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality speak to the designation of the city’s water looking at the overall water system operation, not just the quality of the drinking water.
In addition to water quality, requirements include factors related to treatment, pumping and storage capacity.
“I am so proud of our water and wastewater department for all of their hard-work and dedication for ensuring our utilities are maintained and drinking water is safe,” said city of Wilmer Mayor Sheila Petta.
“I am beyond excited that we continue to have a “Superior” public water system and recognized by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.”
Wayne McCurley, Wilmer’s director of public works added to the mayor’s comments, “The city is committed to excellence and to have clean and safe water is of utmost importance. I am extremely proud of my team and their dedication in serving our community every day.”
