Wilmer Mayor Pro Tem named, council member resigns

WILMER – Wilmer City Council member Wally Leto’s resignation was accepted at last week’s Wilmer City Council meeting.

Leto was serving a term that was not set to expire until May 2023.

In his resignation letter on May 18, 2022, he wrote, “I would like to inform you that as of today, May 16, 2022, I officially resign from the position of City Council of the City of Wilmer, Texas.”

Wilmer City Council accepted Leto’s resignation. No additional information was given regarding Leto’s resignation.

A decision is pending as to how the position will be filled.

At the same council meeting, Councilmember Jeff Steele was voted to the seat of Mayor Pro Tem.
