ELLIS COUNTY – County employees began moving in to the new Ellis County Central facility at 302 N. Monroe Street Monday.
Overall, the building cost roughly $10 million in construction fees to Rogers O’Brien, and the construction management was headed by Tyler Koch of Kitchell.
The new building will house Purchasing, Human Resources, the Fire Marshal, Veteran Services, Department of Development, Engineering, the Tax Office, and a new Emergency Management Emergency Operations Center (EOC) room.
The building features state-of-the-art security enhancements such as AI enhanced live security cameras that are able to put the building on lockdown mode using facial recognition software for known threats in the county.
Corey Rogan, public information officer for Ellis County Judge Todd Little said, “Our overall goal with the new building is to not only expand facilities, but also change what we can do.
“Citizens will have a one-stop-shop with the most modern amenities available for interacting with their county government.”
