NORWALK, Calif. - Two young throwers from Waxahachie made their community proud on one of youth track and field’s biggest stages, sweeping the top two places in the Girls 9-10 shot put at the 2026 USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships.
Jada, representing Texas Faces Track Club, captured the national championship with a personal-best throw of 32 feet, 7.5 inches.
The winning performance earned her the gold medal, the title of 2026 USATF National Junior Olympic Champion and All-American honors.
For Jada, the result was the payoff for a season of practice, technical work and persistence. She arrived in California as a national qualifier and produced the best throw of her young career when the stakes were highest.
Finishing right behind her was India Robinson of Waxahachie Wings, who earned the silver medal and All-American honors with a personal-best throw of 31 feet, 10 inches.
After winning the 2024 national championship in shot put, India took a year away before returning to competition and once again proving she belongs among the nation’s best young throwers.
TWO ATHLETES. TWO ALL-AMERICANS.
GOLD AND SILVER FOR ELLIS COUNTY.
Their 1st and 2nd place finish gave Waxahachie and Ellis County a rare reason to celebrate: two athletes from the same community, competing for different clubs, standing together at the top of the national results.
Although Jada wore Texas Faces red and white and India represented Waxahachie Wings, both young ladies represented their families, their teams, Waxahachie and Ellis County with pride.
The championships were held July 27-August 2 at Cerritos College’s Falcon Stadium in Norwalk, California, bringing together qualifying youth athletes from across the country.
Jada returned to Texas as a national champion and personal- record holder.
India returned as a national silver medalist and All-American, adding another national honor to a resume that already includes her 2024 gold.
