WAXAHACHIE – Everyone dreams of winning the lottery.

Normally that just remains a dream.

However, for one Waxahachie resident earlier this month – that dream turned into a reality.

It was the Texas Two-Step that did it, and the jackpot was $1 million.

The prize-winning drawing was on Sept. 1, and the ticket was purchased at the RaceTrac #564 at 1110 N. Highway 77, in Waxahachie.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was 17-21-22-34 and all four white ball numbers drawn matched up as well as the Bonus Ball, which was 20.

Normally, the Texas Two Step jackpots start at $200,000, and the game goes on until there is a winner who wins by matching the four white ball numbers numbered one to 35 and an additional Bonus Ball also numbered one to 35.

The drawings take place on Mondays and Thursdays.

The Texas Two-Step lottery game has been going on since 1992 and overall, the Texas Lottery has poured $35.3 million into the state and has distributed $76.6 billion in prizes to lottery winners.

A few more facts, the game features overall odds of one in 32.4, and since 1997 the Texas Lottery has given $29.4 billion to the Foundation School Fund supporting public education in the state.

The Texas Lottery revenues also benefit state programs like the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance.

And, since the first veterans’ themed scratch ticket game was launched in 2009, the Texas Lottery has contributed more than $189 million for programs supporting Texas veterans.

Other Texas Lottery games for lottery players include Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto Texas, All or Nothing, Texas Two Step, Pick 3, Daily 4, Cash Five and scratch ticket games.

The winning lottery player did not want his/her name revealed after the big win.
