WAXAHACHIE – The Waxahachie Police Department is looking for clues in last week’s shooting death of 29-year-old Red Oak resident Tanner Vaughn.

Vaughn was shot on June 22 at around 10:41 p.m. in the 200 block of Monticello Drive.

Waxahachie police officers were dispatched to the shooting to find upon arrival Vaughn, who had been shot once in the neck.

Officers immediately began life saving measures until AMR arrived and transported him to Baylor-Waxahachie, where Vaughn was pronounced dead.

Police arrested and took into custody one suspect, 21-year-old Waxahachie resident Jarvon Montae Williams, who was still at the location when they arrived.

Detectives and crime scene investigators processed the scene and collected evidence. Multiple witnesses were on the scene and provided statements to detectives.

The shooting occurred during a gathering at the residence on Monticello Drive.

Williams is no longer being held after his arrest and has bonded out. He has been charged with manslaughter.

If convicted, he could be fined up to $10,000 and sentenced to prison between two and 20 years.
