WAXAHACHIE – The Waxahachie Police Department said this week that after “many hours of investigation,” detectives have identified two suspects from the Dec. 31 shooting in the Waxahachie Walmart Parking lot.
“Waxahachie Police Department detectives began working diligently to identify the suspects,” a Waxahachie PD Facebook post read.
“After many hours of investigation, detectives were able to identify both suspects.”
One suspect has been identified as a juvenile male, and due to his age, his information cannot be released.
“This suspect has been charged with attempted capital murder in connection to this offense.
“The second suspect has been identified as Ledarius Jordan, 19 of Waxahachie. Jordan is being charged with one count of aggravated robbery in connection to this offense.
“A second charge listed at the Ellis County Jail inmate lookup includes unlawful possession fireman by felon.
During the course of the investigation, detectives apparently discovered evidence which could link Jordan and the second underage suspect to numerous other offenses within the city of Waxahachie.
On Dec. 31, Waxahachie Police Department officers were dispatched to the Walmart parking lot where they located an 18-year-old male victim who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
At the time of the shooting, police could only identify the suspects as dressed in all black and wearing masks.
The suspects had initially approached the victim and demanded his car keys. When the victim reached into his pocket to retrieve the keys, he was shot multiple times.
Both suspects fled the area on foot.
