WILMER – The City of Wilmer City Council received a presentation last week from Union Pacific Railroad regarding future projects possibly coming to the city in the future.
Union Pacific Railroad representatives offered a variety of options for future rail within the city.
The resolution that was presented in the meeting made mention of authorizing at-grade rail crossings at Millers Ferry, Sunrise, Greene and Pinto Roads.
The resolution presented also authorized staff to create necessary documents for the permanent closure and abandonment of a portion of Pinto Road.
The resolution stated the WHL Dallas 45, LLC is developing a 3,000-acre rail served business park called Prime Pointe with 1,200 acres located in Wilmer.
The resolution also stated Union Pacific Railroad is prepared to invest more than $10 million to serve the Prime Pointe Industrial Business Park generating thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in taxable value.
