ELLIS COUNTY – The primary election several weeks ago left some areas in Texas experiencing stories about uncounted ballots, for example in Harris County.
One local resident raised a red flag about voting tabulations in Ellis County too – at Grace Church Ovilla.
Jana Onyon, Ellis County Elections, Election Administrator explained, “On election night during closing, the tabulation machine at Grace Church of Ovilla gave an error for the election judge.
“The process on election night in that type of situation is to run the ballots on the tabulator machine at Central Count Station at the elections office to get the results.”
Onyon said that did happen, and those results were included in the unofficial totals posted that night.
However, the vote center report does not show those as counted at the polls, but Onyon said since the elections office has updated the report to reflect what was counted at CCS – visit www.co.ellis.tx.us/DocumentCenter/View/15760/ED-Vote-Center?bidId=
“Ovilla City Hall was a site that had six individual ballots that did not read on the tabulation machine at the polls and those have the same process on election night as well,” Onyon concluded.
