MIDLOTHIAN – This past Monday in Midlothian, traffic pattern change began, which drivers should be aware of when driving in that area.
According to the Midlothian Police Department’s Facebook page, there will no longer be a stop sign on South 14th Street where it intersects with the southern section of Ashford Lane, that section continues east from S. 14th Street.
The stop sign on Ashford Lane will remain, but the stop signs on north- and south-bound 14th Street will be removed at that intersection.
The Midlothian Police Department cautions all drivers to, “Be aware that traffic going north or south on S. 14th Street will no longer have to stop at the south leg of Ashford Lane.
“Also, be aware that south-bound traffic turning east onto Ashford Lane will need to yield to oncoming traffic.
“There will be new signs at the affected intersections to alert drivers crossing traffic does not have to stop.
“Also, pay attention to the new traffic signals on FM 663 installed by TxDOT near the Kroger shopping center.
“These traffic signals should be up and running this week.”
There were also new traffic lights installed last week by TxDOT at the intersection of FM 663 and Autumn Run/Hawkins Run.
