WAXAHACHIE - State Representative Brian Harrison unveiled the 2022 House District 10 Christmas ornament for the Christmas tree on the Floor of the Texas State House of Representatives.
The ornament was decorated by local Ellis County artist Tamara Wascovish.
“I am proud to hang our beautiful HD-10 ornament on the Christmas tree on the Floor of the Texas House of Representatives! Thank you to Tamara Wascovish for decorating and wonderfully capturing the essence of Waxahachie and Ellis County, including our beautiful historic courthouse.
“I am honored to represent so many amazing communities in HD-10,” said Harrison.
Every year Texas House members are given the opportunity to choose a constituent to decorate an ornament to highlight a special aspect of their district. The ornaments are placed on the 23-foot, Texas-grown Christmas tree which stands in the House Chamber of the Texas Capitol during the Christmas season.
Tamara Wascovish is a longtime member of Ellis County Art Association and exhibiting artist in the Art on the Square Galley.
She is a graphic and fine artist and is currently teaching art at several colleges.
