ELLIS COUNTY – The Sherwin Williams fire that occurred in Garland several weeks ago set to affect Ellis County has been given an all clear.

Ellis County Office of Emergency Management had been notified that the tributaries and waterways in Ellis County feeding into the Trinity River would be affected due to the runoff caused by the fire.

A statement issued by the Ellis County Office of Emergency Management at the time said there was no danger to the public, but wildlife in the waterways would be compromised as well as the contamination killing the fish.

Ellis County Emergency Management Coordinator Michaela Sandefer it is once again safe to fish in Ellis County in the aforementioned tributaries and waterways.
