RED OAK - The Red Oak Area Chamber Classic Golf Tournament has been hosted by the Chamber of Commerce for the past 31 years.

Normally the golf tournament is held in May – this year COVID-19 affected that too.

However, according to Clint Woodward,  Red Oak Chamber President, “While COVID has changed so many things regarding our Chamber, we are thrilled that we are able to host this tournament during this crazy year.”

This year, the golf tournament will be held at Country View Golf Course in Lancaster.

A portion of the proceeds from the tournament will be given as scholarships to both Red Oak ISD and Life High School Waxahachie in 2021.

And, Woodward said as always, this is not just a simple game of golf, there are many different and fun games to play while on the course, including shooting your ball out of an air cannon, and a chance for  golfers to win $10,000 if they get a hole in one.

Since 1973, the Red Oak Area Chamber of Commerce has been the leading business connection to the  Red Oak Community, as well as our neighboring North Ellis County communities.

Woodward said the Chamber supports members and the community through promotion, activism, education, and community events.

“To us, this golf event is our most important event of the year because it is one of the only ones, we are able to have, and the only one that is relatively ‘unaffected,’” Woodward added. “This is our biggest opportunity for our members to come out, support our business community and our school districts, and have some fun in the process.

“As always, we could not have the same level of success without our sponsors: Linebarger, Red Oak Faith Fellowship, Triumph Group, Baylor Waxahachie, Community National Bank & Trust, Altus Emergency, InterBank, Chick-fil-A Red Oak, Red Oak ISD, Freedom Heating and Air, Trinity Oaks Mortgage, and many others.”
