CORSICANA – On Sunday, August 23 at 10:25 a.m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers were called to a two-vehicle crash on FM 813 approximately 2.2 miles south east of Palmer in Ellis County.
The preliminary investigation shows that a 2015 maroon Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling south on FM 813, and a 2018 white Buick Encore was traveling north on FM 813. For an undetermined reason, the motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve to the right causing it to veer into the northbound lane of travel, striking the front right of the Buick.
The motorcycle skidded off the roadway into the grassy median where both driver and passenger were ejected. The Buick came to rest in the northbound lane of travel.
The driver of the motorcycle, 39-year-old, Christopher Estes of Palmer, and the passenger, 38-year-old, Jennifer Jarrel of Ennis, were both transported to Baylor Scott & White hospital in Waxahachie.
Mr. Estes was later pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace, precinct #4, Steve Egan.
The investigation is still ongoing, and there is no other information available at this time.
