OVILLA – As always, exciting, and positive movement in the City of Ovilla.
Ovilla Mayor Richard Dormier said, “We are happy we could finish out the back half of the police station and almost double their space and making the entire facility ADA compliant.”
The Ovilla Police Department building renovation is complete and has been met with excellent results. The city added space to the already crowded building, including a training room so the personnel at the PD would have a little more room to move around.
In fact, the building size increased by about 1800-square-feet.
Ovilla is also renovating the former Public Works area, which is located on the other side of the wall from the city council chamber room.
This renovation will provide the city with a much-needed public restroom for use during meetings and court, as well as a kitchenette for staff, and a conference room.
The city found a creative way to add much needed space to a crowded and aged City Hall building.
Ovilla’s Founders Park is also seeing renovations. The Parks Department have made significant renovations to the ballfields and have also spear-headed the installation of a new playground, new restroom, and pavilion.
These improvements have been in the City’s Comprehensive Plan for several years, and the people at the city are pleased to see all the plans successfully coming to fruition.
