WILMER – The city of Wilmer recently received several pallets of hand sanitizer from a company out of Hurst.
City staff and city council members wanted to make beneficial use of the sanitizer and decided to donate some of it to local churches.
It was also handed out at the city’s two most recent citywide events – Taste of Pioneer Days and this past weekend’s Fall Festival.
Eddie Bernice Johnson Elementary School received a donation, as well.
“The City of Wilmer is thrilled to once again have the opportunity to deliver hand sanitizer to the students and faculty of Eddie Bernice Johnson Elementary School,” said Wilmer Mayor Sheila Petta about the Oct. 19 donation.
“While students have returned to school and parents and teachers are eager to assure our young ones get the education they deserve, the current pandemic is still with us and we at city hall want to assure that all students, teachers and families are able to remain healthy in whatever way possible as we continue to work of educating our youth in our wonderful city.”
