MUD meeting location upsets local residents

ELLIS COUNTY – A group called the Ellis County Conservatives are asking for citizens who are concerned about the MUD districts to speak out about what some people believe is a bad meeting location for an upcoming meeting.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality scheduled a public meeting for the Circle S Midlothian TPDES (Sewer Plant) and the commission decided to locate the meeting outside of Ellis County where the sewer plant is located.

Instead, the meeting for Circle S Midlothian TPDES is set for 7 p.m., Monday, March 4 at 210 S. Walnut St. in Venus, in Johnson County.

According to a Facebook post from the Ellis County Conservatives, “This development is in Midlothian, Ellis County.

“The meeting should not be held in Venus or Johnson County. I requested it be moved to Midlothian and to Ellis County.

“I was told the petitioner chooses the venue.”

However, citizens can make comments asking the meeting to be moved to Midlothian.
