WAXAHACHIE – The dead body found in Waxahachie last Thursday afternoon at 77 and 342 has been identified as Dallas resident Miner Carell.
Carell was a 75-year-old black male described as 5' 6", weighing 120 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes, and was known to have had health issues and dementia.
A Silver Alert had been issued on Carell before his body was found.
According to a news release from the Waxahachie Police Department, the cause of Carell’s death is still unknown.
“The investigation is active pending the autopsy results,” the release said.
The Dallas Police Department said, “Carell was located and has been pronounced deceased from natural causes.”
According to the Dallas Police Department’s DPDbeat.com, on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at about 3:30 p.m., Carell was last seen on foot in the 4900 block of Paloduro Lane in Dallas.
He was wearing a gold tee-shirt, gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and a brown dress shoes.
On Thursday, Jan. 30, the Waxahachie Police Department received a 911-call from a passing motorist in the 3800 block of North US Highway 77.
The call requested officers check the welfare of a man lying in a ditch. Officers arrived to find Carell deceased.
The case was referred to the Dallas Police Department since the missing man had been listed as a Critical Missing Person out of that department.
