ENNIS – The candidates filing for the upcoming Ennis Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem open seats have all officially filed for the Jan. 31, 2026 special election.

The Mayoral election will fill the current vacancy for a term expiring May 2027.

The Mayor Pro Tem special election winner will fill a vacancy for a term expiring May 2026.

Both seats are open due to the resignation of Mayor Kameron Raburn and the resignation of Mayor Pro Tem Lynda Isbell.

Raburn vacated his seat to run for Ellis County Judge. Isbell resigned to run for the Ennis Mayor seat.

The candidate filing period for both positions ended Nov. 21.

On the ballot for the mayoral seat will be Maxwell Quattlebaum, a truck driver representing the working class in Ennis; Lynda Isbell, Mayor Pro Tem and a business owner with knowledge of civic planning; Walt Lese, a retired Ennis Ford Employee; Lou Luckhardt, an AFL-CIO activist with experience in labor rights advocacy and community; and Becky McCarty, former Ennis Tourism Director.

For the Mayor Pro Tem seat David Espedal, Sara Wilder, Chad Wester and Trevor Wilhoite will all be on the January ballot for that open seat.
