RED OAK – All lanes of north and southbound I-35E are closed and detoured between FM 664/Ovilla Road and Bear Creek Road near Red Oak through late 2026 for an ongoing improvement project.
All southbound lanes of I-35E will be closed and detoured between Bear Creek Road and FM 664/Ovilla Road.
All northbound lanes of I-35E will be closed and detoured between FM 664/Ovilla Road and Bear Creek Road.
Sign detours are in place. Drivers can expect delays when traveling through the area as traffic adjusts to the new temporary configuration.
Crews are reconstructing the Loop 9 overpass at I-35E as a part of a $137 million project. The work is still ongoing until Oct, 11 at 5 a.m. for the northbound and southbound lanes of I-35E.
There will be alternating lane closures nightly due to median work being done on I-35E in that same area.
The work has been going on since July, 2024. The project is expected to be completed by Spring, 2026.
