ENNIS – If you are an Ennis resident, there has never been a better time to get your library card.

The city’s newly renovated library recently opened at 501 W Ennis Ave., and city leaders encourage all residents to take advantage of what the library has to offer.

Termed the library’s “Next Chapter,” the official reopening ribbon cutting will be held this weekend, sponsored by the Greater Ennis Chamber of Commerce.

Books, magazines, online databases and more are available at Ennis’ library, and the city welcomes all to enjoy the valuable resources.

There are also plenty of community events and workshops at the library.

Currently, the Summer Reading Program themed “Let’s Color Our World with Books,” encouraging imagination and discovery through reading is in full swing.

Open to children aged 6-to-12-years old, the program offers a range of educational and entertaining activities, including science demonstrations, wildlife encounters, and themed performances.

The program is Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and Thursdays at 2 p.m.

This program is free and open to the public.
