OVILLA – Long-time resident and former Ovilla Mayor Charlie Morton will serve as this year’s grand marshal for Ovilla’s Heritage Day parade opening the day’s festivities.
The celebration, now going on its 37th year, is touting the theme, “A City to Adore since 1844” and will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24.
The parade begins at 8:30 a.m. and will be followed by the event taking place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The variety of booths at this year’s event will include local businesses and artisans.
The music will feature Red Oak Opry, Stage Door School of Dance and Belle Studio.
Ovilla City Manager Pam Woodall said, “We will have different food vendors this year like usual, but we will also feature mobile food vendors for the first time.”
