ELLIS COUNTY – The Ellis County Commissioners Court was the latest in a string of elected officials who have been listening over the past few months to discussion regarding proposed adjustment options on 1387.

According to Midlothian resident Vickie Dillow, there were more than two dozen concerned citizens who spoke with only one person, Ronnie Russell, in opposition to the voice of the majority in attendance.

In the end, commissioners tabled the item to allow time for exploring adjustment options to both proposed routes.

A spokesperson from Ellis County Judge Todd Little’s office said, “There was no decision made regarding whether they would change their recommendation of the Southern Route to TxDOT.”

The item will be revisited at the December 13 Commissioners Court meeting.

“We are researching the facts and figures and looking for a way to make the north option right for all people, because it truly is, the right option,” Dillow said.

An item to approve a bond passed for the future construction of local Baylor Scott & White facilities.  The total bond issuance was $550 million being sold.

Of that money, $180 million will be for the main medical facility in Waxahachie at the I-35 facility. The bonds were passed through the Tarrant County Cultural Education Facilities Finance Corporation along with “multiple other constructions being filed” according to Judge Little.

There is no Ellis County revenue being used for these improvements.
