FERRIS – The City of Ferris received a wonderful Christmas donation earlier this week from Covenant Church in Ferris.
The church donated about two dozen gift-filled stockings to the Ferris Police Department.
The stockings were filled with gifts and toys for boys and girls of a variety of ages.
“The Ferris Police Department appreciates the gifts Covenant Church donated to the city and we will make sure the gifts are given out to families in need,” said Ferris Police Chief John DeLeon.
“During this time of Christmas giving it warms my heart that churches and organizations are so full of the gift of benevolence.”
The Ferris Police Department will disburse of the gift stockings to motorists in the city who are stopped for minor violations from now until Christmas.
“Christmas is such a wonderful time of year, we wish all our residents in Ferris a happy holiday and want to remind everyone to stay safe and think smart.”
