FERRIS – Residents might have noticed over the past few months the City of Ferris infrastructure has been improving rapidly.
In fact, improvements continue across the city most recently a new parking lot being paved next to the Pavilion in the city’s downtown area.
“This parking lot is to alleviate parking issues for businesses and patrons,” said Ferris City Manager Brooks Williams. “Long term parking of more than two hours will also be prohibited in front of businesses in downtown in the near future.”
In November the roads around Mutz Park were also given a facelift with asphalt.
A parking lot has been added next to the Scout House and 10th Street and the area from Central to the Scout House was thoroughly reconstructed with cement over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Most recently the alley located off 5th street was also paved and the drainage problems corrected.
The city is also making repairs for water sewer improvements.
“This is all part of our five-year Capital Improvement Program,” Williams concluded. “We are in the first year and moving forward as we replace and repair the city’s much needed infrastructure.”
